contributed a number of recordings to is airing today!

It's THE MAVERICK'S MUSIC BOX with Angus Martin, starting at 2.0 pm GMT (8 am central time in the US) on UCA Radio in Ayr and Paisley, Scotland; link to listen on-line is http://www.ucaradio.paisley.ac.uk/Listen.html

Today would be Lena's 46th birthday, and Martin, who uses Lena's record of 'The end of the world' as his closing theme, plans a special tribute programme devoted to Lena and her music.

Like Angus, as most of you know, I'm quite a Lena Zavaroni fan.  I sent him transfers of some of her records I have, and I also sent cleaned-up transfers I made of the audio from clips of some of Lena's television appearances as may be found on YouTube (including her legendary 1981 performance of 'Going nowhere') that will be heard on the programme.

Debs Baker of www.lenazavaroni.net will also present a special message during the programme.

Hope you can catch it!  (Though I'll attempt to record it for myself off the computer.)
