In one post you say you've never slagged off anyone for their fetishes, and in the next one you're calling Eloise sad.

That is NOT a fetish! That is an opinion. DO look up a dictionary for the difference.
For example:- I'm sad that there are many unemployed these days.
That is not a fetish!

but, yes i agree with you, he is a F***** prick.

Although that might be being disrespectful to pricks to associate him with pricks, as a prick is a usefull thing.

You should use that description more wisely for a moderator without the sweary words.
I thought that this board was way above common vulgar expletives and used better subjective reasoning.
Obviously I might have been mistaken.

A counter argument ( note correct spelling)
I think what you mean is a counter point or an argument, not a counter argument.
Contrary to your statement, I have no need to justify any remark or opinion I make. You don't like it, f*** off.

See what i mean?

God lord, can I not turn my back for a second?

My view on this wee "stooshie"

Allan, you are bringing this on yourself bud, and I'll tell you why.
You were saying the board was quiet.
Eloise has been working hard in the River City section, bringing new people here.
Also, she keeps that section alive by posting there, as often as she can.
So she is helping to stop the board being quiet.
She also posts elsewhere on the board, to keep things alive.
She has the freedom of choice to post, or not post where she wants to.
Just like the rest of us do.
To call her sad is out of order, and I really wish you hadn't said that.

Everyone here can post wherever they find something of interest to them.
You don't like soaps, no one has a go at you for that.
Eloise, doesn't post in the political section, you do, but she didn't call you sad.

Another thing, everyone here can post in whatever dialect they wish to.
Only you seem to have a problem with that, but again thats their choice to do that.
I don't mind you being grumpy, in fact I like it, when it's not aimed at other members.
But when folk get personal with you, it's because you had a go first.
It's true you reap what you sow.

For everyone else, the board does have a word censor up.
I'm sorry but it's one of the rules I had to stick to, by the providers.
Because this is a public forum, it gets checked by the providers.
They told me, they can close this down, without any warning.
After losing two other versions of FTS, I don't want to lose this one too.

Allan, you won't like what I just wrote, but do me a favour, and think about it please.

I hear what you say and will comply of course. However you have to admit that in no way have I done anything other than disagree with another posters POV. Don't tell me I must disgree politely by thanking someone for a comment made against me, or agree to disagree with them.
All in all I think I have generated more interest in a way by raising valid points and getting others to participate to this thread.
If I cannot, or not be allowed to, then perhaps this board may well shut down anyway regardless of my do's and dont's.
Please try to understand my reasoning in this and I truly apologise to everyone whom I have upset.
Will they in turn now apologise for the blankety blanks though. Will you now ask them to?
Are we all becoming far too sensitive to criticism?

Allan P YOU were out of order calling me sad etc, I will continue to post on the RC thread as I love the programme, I do watch other things but consider that to be MY business, as I stated you know NOTHING about me and my life how did you expect me take a comment like that ? it was out of order, I stand by everything I have answered in reply, I apologise to everyone else on this thread if I have caused offence to any of them.

Living in the US, I dont get River City.  However, its my understanding on this forum things of interest to anyone can be posted.  Keep on Eloise and enjoy your program and dont let anyone sway you in the least.  I for one certainly would not be offended

I do not think that I was out of order by giving my honest opinion.
Perhaps you are in turn out of order by NOT accepting my apology.
That is your own personal preference of course.

AllanP, you're comment regarding Eloise was personal.
You cannot go around calling people sad or whatever.

I'm up for a bit of a stooshie regarding different points of view when it comes to any issue, but personal attacks are just not on IMO.

If Allan P can't accept what people say, then that's a personal problem only he can deal with.

I didn't ask you, or anyone else to apologise Allan.
I'm just asking that you read this thread from start to to finish.
Surely you can see how it looks to others reading it?
I can understand folk getting angry, when it looks like you are singling out one person.

You, and Eloise both post here regularly, more than I do at the moment.
Sometimes I just don't have any time to get here.
Of course we all won't get on all the time, I cant do anything about that.
But, I have to say it, as I see it.

This can either carry on, or not, I don't edit, or delete anyones posts.
But avoiding certain threads, can sometimes be the only thing to do.
No one is better than anyone else in my eyes.
It's good to see you all posting, and helping to keep this place going.
It might be quiet a lot of the time, but it's been like that for a long time.
Yet, it still keeps going, thanks to everyone posting on this thread,
and to those who post elsewhere, and kept out of this thread.

For the record, I watch River City every week, because I enjoy it.
Also, the fact it's a Scottish soap, and this is a Scottish forum, well
it makes sense to me, to have a section for it here.
Just because someone likes something someone else doesn't.
I don't see how that makes them "sad"?
In fact, it makes me interested to know why they like things.

You were on the original FTS, so maybe you will remember when I used to get blasted,
for joking around, and not taking anything seriously?
Thats my personality, I prefer to try to make people smile.
Way back then, a lot of folk were getting abused on the board.
For not enjoying the same things, as others did.
There were a lot of bullies on the first version of FTS.
No, I'm not calling you a bully Allan, so don't think I am.
But that part of FTS1, sickened me, so I started to fight back at them.

This is why, I try to keep this place as friendly as possible.
Arguments will always happen, and I'll try to mediate, but I won't,
put words into anyone elses mouths, or edit, or delete, to make it look
like a sunny forum.

I think you are all brilliant, and I'd buy you all a pint, if I could.
Thats it for now, I'll try to get back here tomorrow.
I might even bring a white flag with me, just incase, cos I'm all out of doves.

Sid, you are so refreshing to say the least, after many disagreable answers.

It's a pity that there are many who are far too easily put off by a disconcerting comment about what should, or should not be said, albeit about any particular subject raised.
I relish any counter arguement against anything I've posted heretofore, and will defend my right to say so.

I have said I'm sorry. Some do not accept this from me. That is up to those individuals. Mods included.

Live and let live, agree to disagree if you will, but do not expect me to agree with everything said or implied, on this board.

Have I not apologised? Can you and others not accept that?

If not, then I am sad or whatever. Eloise has had an apology.
Must I now spend the rest of my life wearing sack cloth and ashes?

Because, if you don't know about something, then as far as I'm concerned, your opinion doesn't count for anything.

To put it into words that you may understand........if you don't vote, then you are not entitled to spout your political opinion.  If you can't be bothered to even try to change things in your favour, then don't moan about the outcome.

However, no doubt you do have an opinion about everything.  I guess it's our choice whether we can be bothered to read about it.
