Did you stand in the one spot all day BoB?
Have you ever tried sniffing black marker pens, when you get bored? _________________

No, I was fishing and I did move, but not very far.
Marker pens there used to be one made that made you light headed after using them for a while.
There is a new pen here that smells something like it.
It brings back memories of younger days, so I have hidden it
The pen is a Sanford Sharpie. Sniff................Lovely
Here is some more, taken from the same spot.
Love the light, most unusual.
Spot the Mink swimming. |

Fishing line, a reel and a hook with a worm.
I was at the bottom of a pool where they enter it, this one came in and hit right away.
I don't think it would have made any difference what I had been using it was going to hit anyway.
Bring it on! |

There was a debate as to what it was when it was caught, it was a lot browner looking than in the picture.
It turned out to be a Seatrout.
Though it had strange markings, three to two said it was a Seatrout, so that is good enough for me.
It had come straight from the sea I found out later, it still had a sea louse (lice) on it. Just the one hiding behing one of its fins.
I can't understand it colour though, usually they are silver when from the sea and not tinged with brown or red!
Maybe it still had a lot of the brown trout genes (colouring) as they are the same fish anyway, just one goes to sea and the other stays in the river. |

BoB, has the bottom fins got white outlines?
If so, it could be a chub, we catch them in the canal here.
If the meat is very pale, thats what it could be.
It's hard to tell from a photo, right enough.
Or it could be a mixed rainbow/sea trout.
Normally fresh from the sea, they are bars of silver, it's just the shape, and fin colour?
Do you know if you send it to Pitlochory (spelling?)
They can do a test, and even pay you, if you find an oddity.
It's a while since I was involved in the fishery world though. _________________

I was speaking to someone today that said it was a sea trout, some come with this colouring now as if they had been in the river for months.
Is this just a genetic variant, as another said it was a brownie, well the flesh was pink as predicted by the first person.
Rainbows can also have pinkish flesh, so I suppose we are almost back at square one, but I have labelled it Sea trout and that is it.
It is in the deep freeze labelled as such. |
