I'm learning..(trying to) lyrics for 20 odd songs.
I've been asked to sing in a covers band, which is good.
But, the previous singer was a lady, so the songs are a bit odd for a bloke to sing.
I don't mind that, but she had a hell of a high voice, and I'm struggling a bit.
It's too close to my first gig, for any key changes, so I just have to dig deep, and go for it.

Thats what I'm up to the noo, what about you?

Folk with mental health issues are not loony's MW.
If you really are in one of those centres, then I hope they can help you.
I read elsewhere you are drinking?
That is not going to help you, that makes things worse.
You've been through a lot, I know that, but you need to help yourself.
You have two beautiful children, they need you.
Do it for yourself, but also for them, quit bloody drinking.
Harsh of me I know, but molly coddling does not work.
Your a good girl, but you need someone to tell you how it is, not bullshyte you.

I hope the gigs go well Xcotty what over covers do u do? Most 80's stuff I would guess?
At present I am in the process of attempting a novel.  I have completed my synopsis have all the characters sorted and the plots and the imagination but it really is a long term goal.  I'm in it for the duration and even if it doesn't work in the end it will have been fun attempting.

Aye....given the way the relationship had gone, and how it ended up--and indeed, her life afterward--it was a sadly three--dimensionally apropos song.    Another facet of 'Going nowhere'....

As a retired mental health nurse, I do get a touch angry when I hear words like looney bin. I also get annoyed when folk use terms like Psycho, Schitzo etc.
People  would never mock someone who had cancer or heart problems etc so why mock mental illness.
There is nothing in the least funny about any kind of illness or mental handicap.

It's not funny but we all mock it because we know we are all very close to the edge at times ourselves so like a lot of humour there's a fear lurking in the background

Too troo Bluemoon, most folk have skeletons in the closet, including yours truly.

Some times the best way to beat it is to try and cheer others up in some way or another.

When the guid lady always complains,i always say to her to think of the poor kids in Africa who are starving to death.

Yeah I have just been through a bit of a tough time, also my OH really not funny, but neither of us would like to hear the above words, really not funny at all, we all have our problems and have to get on with it, you cannot help someone who is not willing to help themselves, enough said

I'm sorry but Mental health issues are not always down to someone helping themselves. I wish it was that easy.
I have a husband who suffers from a serious mental health problem and a grown up mentally handicapped son, both of whom I love dearly and neither of whom could be made better by helping themseves.

Far too complicated to discuss here I think.  Things are not always down to someone helping themselves BUT I have found that if they are not willing or able to help themselves then they get no help because they have to agree to any treatment.  Catch 22 I think.  (And I have 35 years of trying to find a solution to the problem behind me)
