Glad to hear that it has been confirmed and a new series will be made.
They have managed to persuade all the cast to reapply for their old jobs.
Rab C Nesbitt 10 years on looks good. Well it can't be worse than series 8 by then it had past its sell by date.
However I guess Iain Patteson the writer has now had 10 years to reflect and come up with fresh scripts for the up to date Govan!

It was funny at times ... but I'm afraid, much as I love Rab C Nesbitt ... his time is past and we need to find something new in Scottish Comedy ... hopefully something different from the constant Glasgow-centric, west coast humour the BBC constantly bombards us with.

The producers need to get round Scotland more and see the comic potential of ALL of Scotland ... because they've been too lazy for too long!

For instance ... a Dundee based comedy would be great ... that place is FULL of eejits!  And Aberdeen for all the sexual perversity!  Or Inverness for all the wooly-heidit nonsense that comes out of there ... or Edinburgh ... especially with its "we're better than you" attitude to everyone else.  And I think you'd something really off-the-wall from the numpties of Perth. Then there's the Islanders ... with their strange ways and their fear of being contaminated by the Mainlanders.

Lemme see ... did I get them all???

Naw yeh missed Ft William, the Rip off asses at Aviemore and  Wick & Thurso with the rough young culture (Gies a fight!).
Fraserburgh with its well established drug culture and Peterhead the cauldest place on the face of the earth (well Scotland onaway) fishing boats and drugs mixed the gither should be a good mix.

The Trawlermen was as good a comedy as I've seen "We'll have to throw these fish back boys" Aye, right!!!!

Remember ah that tight fairmers that winna pay a bill.

....... not forgetting the assholes of Stirling!!!

And I'm sure Argyllshire has witches all over the place.

Oh yeah ... Castle Douglas ... one-horse town!!!

And the Mystery of Melrose ............ being why o why does anyone choose to live there?

Then Hawick ... miles from the sea ... but has a pub called the Ship Inn ... patronised by huge girlie rugby players!!!

I'm sure I'm still missing others ..............

Now this is good news! Rab C and the Chewin' The Fat guys have carried Scottish comedy to the rest of the UK and made it accessible and pant-wettingly funny.

Roll on series 9!
