It'll be "Primaeval" for me .... Oops! Sorry ... I meant "Primeval". Forgot that it's meant to target an American market and the rest of us don't matter as much.

The last two series were hugely flawed, though the CGI was great! ... and you didn't really care for the characters much ... so let's hope this third series will be better.

Robin Hood? Nah ... I watched the first episode and thought it was garbage!  And now Friar Tuck is to be a black man.  In 13the century England??  Gimme a break!!!

I don't think much of Primeval.  Robin Hood is for me, especially if Jonas Armstrong is in it.

Well Robin hood was always a myth so a black man as friar Tuck seems perfectly at home.

I know you meant crap .... but when it comes to watching the box, it's very often as case what's less crappier than the other!!!

And in this case ... I'll have the dinosaurs over this version of Robin Hood ANY DAY!!!

In fact, gimmy HISTORICAL ... and not POLITICALLY CORRECT, any day!!!

Where's the Jason Connery/Clannad version when you want it?

Or even my late father's favourite ... Richard Greene??  Only on YouTube ... but he used to sing it all the time when I was wee boy.

All together now ....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2w7ALMIUy74&feature=related

Robin Hood, Robin Hood
Riding through the glen
Robin Hood, Robin Hood
With his band of men
Feared by the bad
Loved by the good
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood ...

He called the greatest archers to a tavern on the green.
They vowed to help the people of the king.
They handled all the trouble on the English country scene,
And still found plenty of time to sing.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood
Riding through the glen.
Robin Hood, Robin Hood
With his band of men.
Feared by the bad, loved by the good.
Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood.  ...

Ye cannae beat that theme song ....

Fair enough, Robin Hood is crap, and so is Primeval - but it's not totally nonsensical having a black man in 13th century England.

But far more importantly from a televisual point of view, there will be a Dr Who special on at Easter. It's a holy thing. (Dr Who, that is)

ITV 3 were showing repeats of the Jason Connery/Michael Praed version and very good they were to.

I never said there were NO black people in England, Squeegee.

But I do not think that any of the ones who might have been here were priests/monks or in any position of authority.  They would have been slaves!  However, I reckon there were few and far between anyway.  The peasants would have considered them "black devils".

I read that the BBC have decided to ignore historical accuracy in favour of employing black actors in whatever role they see fit.  How long till Rudolf Walker or Don Warrington portrays Charles I do you think??  I think they are both fine actors, able to play anything ... but in a historical depiction ... they would be slaves in Europe and England!

More to the point ... DOCTOR WHO SPECIAL ... YYAAAYYYYYY!!!!!   Bring it on!!!
