Boil the Macaroni in salted water until cooked but firm.
In another pan melt some butter/low fat spread, add plain flour and stir until a smooth 'rioux' is created. Add milk and stir well avoiding lumps. Add grated cheese and continue stirring, with half a teaspoon of mustard power at the end. Stir well! Place cooked macaroni in an oven dish, mix in the cheese sauce, sprinkle grated cheese on the top, with sliced tomatoes, and place under grill. Cook until top is just turning light brown.
Yum!! |

Normally Cheddar, but I imagine a nice sour cheese like Cheshire would be nice!
Or Mozarella? |

I don't put tomatos in mine, eek soggy.
I like to grill bacon, till its really crispy, and cut it into little bits then put that in.
Gives it a really nice flavour, if you like bacon.
My mate's wife makes macaroni with a tin of tomato soup.
I don't like it, but a lot of folk seem to. _________________

Fry the bacon with some leeks and add that too..........and if you want a really crisp topping, mix some grated cheese with smushed up plain crisps.
Yum |

I also use the crispy bacon bits and top it with tomatoes. Have also replaced the bacon with mushrooms for veggies. Either way its nice with the bacon you don't need to add salt when cooked just loads of pepper for me YUM. Just about one of my fav dishes I near enough clear a full asshit of the stuff |
