Our darling chancellor has given a speech to big industry in the city about rising inflation (currently at 3.3%) and the need for wage restraint that would lead to pushing inflation rates up even further.
That is IMO is a waste of time, as these fat cats he's speaking to don't understand a thing about workers having to accept poor wage rises to combat this.
They (the workers) only want to be able to pay to keep their respective families head above water, what with food and fuel bills rising almost daily.
Just as a small example of this debacle is that only today British Gas has said that because of the rising price of fuel they will only make 1.9 Bn pounds profit as opposed to 2.2 Bn pounds profit last year so they will have to pass on this shortfall to their customers by raising Gas supply prices.
I wonder what the darling will do about that statement?
Yes, you've already guessed, Nothing, Nada, Zilch!
Time for us all to dig in our back garden for coal and sod global warming, (which IS a big con anyway), and set illegal snares to catch rabbits and hares, maybe perhaps shoot a few deer or two to keep us in food too.
More and more these days governments cowtow to the big money earners and forget about we commoners, to their eternal shame. _________________ Please support Cancer Research. |

| BoE reckon inflation is going to be over 4% by the end of the year. And, the cost of any products that use steel in the manfucture look set for sharp rise this year as well due to the cost of iron ore doubling.. that means a hike in price of buildings, cars, computes, washing machines etc |

Yeah! I agree. They (Government) also say that we in the UK are well positioned to be able to "ride the unrest" in the recent downturn in the world economy.
We as a people don't really care about "tightening our belts" and waiting.
We, are only able to see what is happening now in erroding our own unconsidered standard of living.
It's fine for the big earners and their huge expenses account claims being unable to understand how we all are suffering with rising costs, but they are like the proverbial Ostrich. Need I explain more? _________________ Please support Cancer Research. |

it grates me when they tell folk to tighten their belts when their expenses claims alone are more than what a lot of people earn. Damn cheek.
And, something I have learned over the years is that regardless of which party is in power, if they say things like "there's nothing to worry about", you can bet your bottom dollar that there bloody well is something to be worried about. I think most people think along those lines and with good reason to as well. In fact, wasn't it Darling telling folk not to panic that started the run on the Northern Rock? |

Yes, we are indeed safe in their hands (grubby that is).
How can these pillars of society sleep at night?
Answer! With an evil smile on their fat faces.
