This pillock needs a history lesson

1469 - Denmark gives Shetland in lieu of a dowry for the marriage of their princess (Margaret) on the understanding that the debt is settled later

debt is never settled (In the end only 2000 of a 60, 000 florin dowry was paid)

In the contract it said that if the money was paid, then Orkney and Shetland would be returned

HOWEVER - The Danish King Christian renounced this right upon the birth of his grandson James IV

Therefore, the islands are Scottish

As long as he's not getting legal aid for this nonsense. (What's the betting he is!!)

Captain Calamity is a heidcase. By an Act of Parliament (Scottish) in 1472 the islands were annexed and united to Scotland. The Kings o' Denmark moaned about it until the eighteenth century but were told tae get tae fu....... They did. Anyway, at one time the Vikings were everywhere aroon Scottish coasts, English coasts, Welsh coasts, Irish coasts, French coasts; well just aboot a'body’s coasts. My fiddlin’ freens in Shetland regard Captain Calamity as an absolute nutter.

He should go on "Bullseye". Hopefully he'd win his BFH. (Bus fare home!!)

Thank you my friend. Watching and waiting as they say.....

Increadable defense though. I mean, have the legal aid idiots gone potty or what? Would it not be better to spend the fund on say, estranged parents getting access rights? Or 'shafted bank customers' getting their bank charges refunded?

That's just a couple of things, I bet you have other examples.......

Captain Calamity sounds a bundle of fun. Why did he settle in Shetland anyway, after his boat had a fight with the north sea and lost?  Sounds as if he has left his brains in the boat. I hope the court will be quick it telling him, that if he disnae like Scots law he can then B****** off to Essex from whenst he came!
