I'm hoping to see loads of snowdrops tomorrow, they were all late coming up, in the meantime took a walk in the woods today and the sun and trees gave a lovely display of light and shadow.

The false Spring continues.  This was the pathway at the back of the Manor, half an hour ago.

Sidsnotwasere

Sheeesh BA,i wudny like bumping intae you up that path.

Who knows where it may lead tae.
Carol

woody strange how some woods look the same   The one you took earlier looks similar to a wooded area near me.
Guest

Maybe because in the old days the 'landed gentry' would plant them according to a common plan?
Carol

the wood near me was once a Roman Camp as well as a traveller's site.  It's a strange one though as there's barely any sign of life, spooky
Lord Blackadder

The gardeners don't do much outside work from October to March. They're generally working in the Greenhouse Complex.  Come spring, the team will soon whip everything into shape.

However I like large parts of the estate to grow wild, to encourage the wildlife!
Sindygirl

I was in Dunning today, very nice.
Guest

I spent half a day looking for that place!  Haven't found it yet!!
Sindygirl

i just remembered i know someone who lives there, but they werent in. We went to Perth, just for a couple of things at the shops.

I bought a kitchen clock, its snazzy orange!
Guest

Talking of kitchens.......

went to some lord's manor grounds to look at the snowdrops today.  Snowdrops are notoriously difficult to snap cos of their whiteness and smallness.  As they're later this year a few crocuses got in on the act too. I do believe spring really is on the way now

Bluemoon

Is that you and LBA walking off into the sunset ?
Carol

Blue that's BA with the anorak on
BoB

A lot of snowdrops

There is a wood near us that is white like that in the summer, but its wild garlic and the smell

If you have vampire tendenties don't go there

Ah yes, the medieval haircut gives it away

I thought it was the lesser spotted dark blue anorak.
