It would depend on what Photo Suit you have on your PC if you have any.
You can get Photo Shop 5 for nothing if you are still on Xp (I don't know if it works with Vista).
Most Photo Suits have a Text box you click and then put the text into, then you click on where you want the text and click OK, then just save it.
Best to copy a picture and past it in My Pictures and select the Copied one to work on, that way if it goes wrong you still have the original to work on, but always Copy and Paste a photo before you work on them.
When you save the work, give it a new name i.e. copy of 12334 to Fin 1234 so if you copy again you don't get silly with long file names like - copy of copy 1234
