I watched it again, and quite like the new style.
I like River City, it's got some good acting in it.
It's way more upbeat than Eastenders.
They do comedy really well, I admit to being a fan.

After the initial shock, I actually like the new format, its more punchy. Same great actors and storylines. Scarlett and Gina in the chapel trying to get past the priest and nab some holy water in the voddie bottle was priceless.

Nice to be back Mate. Now I don't think you can judge River city by one short Youtube clip. Its difficult to judge if you haven't really watched it.
Still I think it better than the English soaps although I do watch Emmerdale - but not Corrie or Eastenders - I used too but I moved on to RC there is only a certain amount of TV you can watch.
I like things like Wire in the Blood, now there is a bloodly good drama Robson Greene is brill.

I think she is one of the best actress's, Scotland has ever produced.
She plays a very convincing role, and I reckon she is due an award.

Yes Morag Calder <Ruth> is cracking actress. Nation TV awards last night m8, maybe it should be called ENGLISH NATION TV AWARDS. However I know River City is not officially NATIONAL to the UK but even shows that are aired across the UK are ignored - TAGGERT for instance.
Its not too good to be Scottish at the moment everyone including the Prime Minister wants to give us a kicking!

Still getting used to the new format, not sure I like it honestly, camera angles are all wrong and I'm no expert, music cutting in is so last year and the update at the start is way out and sometimes goes back weeks which just confuses things, lots of people on the RC board are threatening to stop watching but that is just plain silly, if it needs to be changed,I for one would support that rather than lose it to poor ratings.

It's not crap at all, I flipping love it.
All the moaning on the main site, is just mad.
They take it so flipping serious, then contradict themselves.

If it wasn't for River City, and it's forum.
I would never have been involved in forum life.
I've met loads of brilliant folk due to that one Scottish Soap.

I like the new filmic filming, and don't mind the music.
Some of the storylines are really gripping, and good acting too.

Like any soap, it has it's ups, and downs, and crappy acting.
But in general, I think it is as good, and better, than most soaps around.

I'm a fan, and dinna mind admitting it.

If most Scottish programming is bad, WHY? Possibly funding or lack thereof. I love RC but yes BBC Scotland need to invest more into it. And BBC Scotland need a fairer slice of the cake from London.

One of them should be moved OUT of Glasgow and into the East Coast! Not necessarily in Edinburgh, but that would be the preferred option!

Do you watch it Blackadder?
I have watched it from day one, and only watched it to see how bad it was.
At first it probably was a bit crappy, but I stuck with it.
It's like anything else, if you start to watch, and get involved.
Then you carry on watching it.
I chose to carry on, it's had ups, and downs.

Some of the issues they tackle, are played out extremely well.
I have laughed out loud, at some of the comedy, they pulled off there.
No way would I deny watching it, just cos someone else thinks it crap.

Be a boring world, if we all liked the same things.

Hope you have a doggy bag for that byraway, I'm no cleaning up your jobbies

Thats one of the reasons, the main city site, is ruined.
But, I would like to try to keep this section as close to the topic as possible please.
I want the new posters, who DO have constructive things to say.
To feel they can come, and post here, without being personally attacked.

A bit of banter is fine, but new folk don't know anyone else here.
So they have no idea, if folk are joking, or being serious.

Looks like next week could be David Paisley's last on screen, At least it looks as if the door will be left wide open for him if he decides to return, which hopefully he will.
Let's hope things are going to get better now.

Met him while he was doing "Tinsel Town". Now there's a guy who CAN act! Don't know why he's not struck it bigger yet! Maybe because he's still quite young. But that guy needs to go to Hollywood ... soon.

I agree with you about David Paisley surely destined for greater things. I also thought that about Robert Carlyle and he did do Hollywood, but he always said he prefered TV work for some reason!! Wish they would get him for River City?

Unlikely ... he's the new Captain of the latest Stargate series, being filmed now. It's a bit like Lost In Space/Voyager apparently ... and Bobby has signed up for at least three seasons.

Rush is the only character who was not included in the initial casting character breakdowns, confirmed as a series regular (instead of recurring) in early January 2009. However, Rush "is not the leader of the unplanned expedition. That honour falls to Colonel Everett Young. For now. But things could have a way of changing on board a ship manned by a disparate group with very different agendas...". According to Robert C. Cooper, Carlyle will keep his Scottish accent for the role.

Sindy girl that's quite unkind about Robert C. His talent for acting is pure brill and Hamish McBeth was great just very tongue in cheek. I loved the episode where the Lord of the manor, broke into his own house stole the silver and buried it to make a insurance claim. Sounds something Blackadder would do if he came of hard times!

I like the change in Deek too, good move by the writers.

Now what we really need, is someone to come in, and take the action away from Lenny, and Daniel.
But not in a gangster style way, thats what went wrong with Eastenders.
Too many gangsters spoil the broth, I reckon.

No, what we need is a short, sharp, shock visit from someone from the past.

My vote would be for Bryan, remember him?
He got locked up in a mental health place, maybe it's time he came back.
Shake the place up a bit, and scare the bejeezuz out of some folk.
But, it would have to be a different actor, cos the last one, wasn't very good.

Well my "Ghost" from the past would have to be Alice. I want her back. Last time she was unceremonially dumped by deek, her son. He packed her bags and that was her oot oan the stair heid whae nae where tae go but to the offie.
God know where she is supposed to be now cos deek just doesn't talk about her. Bring her back with or without the drink problem but just get her back.
