NORMAN 'HURRICANE' SMITH 1923-2008 RIPI have just learned of the death of Norman Smith at the age of 85, after a lengthy illness.
He engineered 99% of the Beatles' 1962-1965 output, produced many early Pink Floyd records, and a hit of his own in 1972 with 'Oh, babe, what would you say?', just to name a very few of his credits.
He was also one of my heroes and inspirations. RIP, Norman, and thank you for all you did for recording and music!
