Keep freetalkscotland up to date.

I've only today noticed the small heading on entry to this board about an appeal for members donations to help upgrade the boards' server.

If every member gave something, perhaps it would ensure that in this current financial climate we all might help in albeit some small way to keep this Scotland board alive and well, where other similar boards have folded.
I've shoved in something to help...Will you do likewise?
BoB

Where are you seeing that Allan?

It is NOT on my screen
BoB

Ok, I found it, but it is seldom there.
Just appears every now and they beside the advert.

Another senior moment we all have to endure sooner or later.
I hope it's not a scam though where I've sent some money elsewhere.
Please check!

I donated when I first saw it too Allan.
But I don't see any adverts at all, here now, as I use an adblocker.
I wasn't sure if it was to do with this board or not?
I hope so though, or I'm the same as you, and now wondering where it actually went?

Perhaps it's one of those ads when once donated to it disappears. It looks as if it's yet another scam to be wary of. Must mentaly kick myself. I should know better. (My own senior moment.)
Carols name was on the list of donator's shown too.
I will check up in future before being conned again.
LET OTHERS BEWARE TOO.

I done a wee check Allan, and it's for the providers of these boards.
This one is included, so I'm breathing easier now.
Thank you, and Carol, for doing that, it's a kind thing to do.

I think I got an email, to say I had donated.
I'm pretty sure it went into a junk folder, and it was a while afore I found it.
That was way back, when the other FTS, went missing, and we began to use this one.

I must say, this is the most stable forum, I have ever used, or known.
So the service provided here, is a really good one in my opinion.

Thank you for checking up Scotty, for a wee while there I thought I'd been conned. Phew!
I do wonder though, just why the extra funding request for this new server is not always on show.

I'm not sure Allan?
If I switch my ad block off, I see it from time to time.
I think it must be a preset occasional ad?

But it's genuine, and is part of the forum, so that's ok.
BoB

Is it?

I hope so.

I haven't seen anything on the help forum, but then If I looked at everything there I would never be here!
BoB

It does appear to be genuine as this is posted there:

Quote:
Server Appeal
To take our forums into 2010 and beyond on a sound fast footing, we would like to obtain an additional top of the line server costing in the region of $10,000/£6000.

This is the most stable forum I have used, it is rarely off line and works like a dream most of the time.
I will be making a donation soon

Fair enough. I've done my bit anyway.
BoB

Thanks Allan
