Ebay fined!

I've only just found out that Ebay have been fined $65 million dollars for allowing Louis Vuitton handbags and other designer items to be sold on their buy and sell website.

Surely this isn't any worse than buying or selling these types of items from your local auction house?

Apologies for posting this thread here, as I wasn't exactly sure where else I could post it.

As I understood it, they were FAKES.

Yes, but can you blame Ebay for that.

I would say no...but you know what authority is like!

This is as good a place as any to post this Allan.

I suppose they should have been advertised as fakes.
But how would ebay know unless they are told?
Surely it's not their fault, if they don't have the correct information?

My own observations? "Absolutely" if you're English.
My own correct observations? "Definately" if you're Scottish.

Won't be too long before the words "definutely" or "absonately" are added to the Oxford English dictionary which might be even more confusing or laughable.

Are there any other stupid uses of everyday words around that are being used out of context?
It would be fun to find out.

I do know that there are many other words used wrongly, and when I can think of some of them, I'll get back.

All contributions, the dafter the better, are more than welcome here.

Have just thought of another word that makes my blood boil.
The word for youngster's - " Kids ".  These surely are the young brood of goats.
The correct word or description for our youngsters should be CHILDREN, not kids.
Grrr!

"Kids"

I suppose it began as a term of affection Allan.
But I know what you mean, about the same words, having different meanings.

I'll need to think of a few, and see what I come up with too.
