What a great film with Mel Gibson
BoB

Strange Scottish accents

Bridge o Doon was maybe worse for that

I thought it was OK for Americans
mwl

You probably gathered that I like anything with a scottish accent!!   (not female)
BoB

I suppose you would like to see us all going around in Kilts with heather growing out between our toes ?
mwl

mwl

It's in every womens mind when they see a man in a kilt...what's underneath and how fast can you find out....

You are not the only one that feels that way.

Last year they had a scottish day here and it was brilliant - a man feel over whilst fighting and got to see other parts that should not be on display!!   I was wonderin was he dutch or SCOTTISH!!

I suppose not - but Scottish is better than Dutch!!

I've never actually seen the film, and I was an extra in it.
mwl

I wonder what Extra part you played?
maria143

Better yet what part you played an extra in the movie....a foot...finger....your back...sculpted, rippling with muscles.... Which was it....

I'm with Bob - this film was atrocious & pure fantasy - and made expressly for a US market - the Jockanese just rode its coattails and milked it rotten.

"They fought like warrior poets... and won their freedom..."

Mel felt so strongly the Scottish cause he filmed it in Ireland.

There's an old Hollywood adage: if faced with a choice of whether to print the myth or the truth - always print the myth. And Mel was good enough to oblige.

At least Rob Roy bothered with some authenticity.
