Bloody Insurance!!I get it. Ok Ok, I'm one of those fortunate enough to afford to go on Holiday.
So the Insurance companies have decided they need a wee cut of my hard earned stuff.
Here we go, have you declared everything, well I think so, Mind you I didn't mention that I had measles when I was about 3 years old, Told them just about everything else and they still want over £100 for 2 weeks!I'm geting pretty worried that maybe I should have declared the measles but was getting to the stage where every time I opened my mouth they wanted another £20.
I could imagine maybe breaking a leg and arriving at Hospital in some foreign parts to be be told, "Sorry, you lied about your measles we can't fix your broken leg"!!
I'm paranoid, having just watched Michael Moore's Documentary 'Sicko'. Certainly won't be going to the States anytime soon, at least until I save up for the Insurance premiums. Maybe I could get a Mortgage for them, a good competitive Bank loan?
Ok, but first does anybody know a good Loan insurance company?

The person I got it for took pneumonia when she arrived in the States. One week in hospital, the following week medicval care and oxygen supplies!
Total cost...$27,000 Dollars!
Every cent paid without question by the insurance!

Now that was a good deal!
So far the best I can get is £81 for 2 people, for 2 weeks in Cyprus, probably the best I'll be offered.
It's all about pre existing medical conditions, mention anything once and it's on record and boosts the premium.
Don't mention something and if you get ill, they check out your medical records to see if they can avoid paying out.
I'll be having another look as the premiums started at well over £100.
The problem seems to be that they insist on covering you for things that probably don't need covered.
Can you remember the name of the company you used?

To be honest, no. And all the paperwork I got was a certificate which was e-mailed, and obviously passed on with the claim!

That's Ok, I had another round of talking to folk that tick boxes for a living before finally finding 'Insure and Go' and a guy who actually listened to what I wanted!!
Got my insurance for about £30, now I just hope I don't need to make a claim

Why do you need insurance to travel...? Doesn't your regular insurance cover you everywhere you go...?

If you have private medical insurance you can use it Maria .... or top up a travel insurance policy with it. Price depends on age as well Maria
Here in an online site Bill for future reference...

Winter sports coverage...Golf....are they crazy..?
The company you work for does not offer Health Insurance?
Do they have Workmans Compensation (it's insurance for any and all employees that have an accident at work) it fully covers everything including therapy and they pay you your salary I believe 75% if the company doesn't pay you.
I also tell them to get Aflac...Disability (pays you when you have to stay home due to accident) and it's pre tax...

Does such a thing exist?

What do you mean loan insurance? as in a loan against your life insurance..?

Sorry maria, I was being flippant.
The fact that the insurance premiums I was originally being quoted would have needed a Loan to afford them and that loan would need to be insured against me falling ill...........or something like that.
We in the UK don't normally have health insurance from our employers although some are providing a limited cover, it varies.
No company will cover you for travel, for repatriating you if you fall ill abroad, or for medical treatment abroad, I belive Canadians have a great fear of travelling to the states without medical insurance.
The other stuff can cover you for baggage, delays, cancellations etc etc. You name they will insure it but at a price!
Maybe should clarify here, Medical treatment in the UK is free at the point of delivery, for everybody. We pay a 'National. Insurance' which comes off our wages at source and this funds our National health service. It don't cover us when we are abroad, except in certain European countries which have a reciprical arrangement!!!!!!!! Why did I start this
I need to get out more, maybe go to Cyprus
As for such things existing Merak? Well I flippantly was suggesting something like an insurance policy to cover a mortgage or a car if you fall ill or lose your job, this counts, yes?
I'm getting out more

Would I get insurance, after having a heart attack?
Or would I have to pay mega bucks.
I'm not planning a trip, it's just a thought really.

aww diddums...
You'd maybe have problems getting insured if you applied for it the day after having a heart attack, but otherwise, I think you'd get insured but with higher premiums than someone with clean slate healthwise. They take that sort of stuff, along with age, into consideration.

we have Medicare/Medicade for low income and no income and there is Kid Care it includes dental, ortho, everything...for free for low income or none...
I pay for my insurance 17.00 weekly...and I'm lucky family coverage is 80 something weekly...I have full coverage PPO and dental...and still it's expensive with co-pay and visit fees 20.00 that you have to pay everytime you go to the doctor. But I couldn't be without it or the kids....
