The writers of that brilliant TV series, raided my family archives to get their version up and going.
I can't complain. Auntie Beeb paid a packet which helps with the upkeep of the Manor. Besides ... I think Messrs Lloyd and Elton got my lot down to a "T". My ancestors were all rogues through and through. But then, you'll find most modern aristos like myself who still inherit our money, titles and privileges, all have ancestors who gained our inheritances through robbery, violence, rape, pillage, plunder, plotting, rebellion and a bit of bedroom antics for good measure.
