Petula Clark was a big hit in France,... and they eat snails and frogs legs there, and run away when there's a scrap.......
Aye right enough. Petulant Clark was right up their rue.

I like Petula, "Downtown", is a classic from my youth..
Helen Reddy.."Angie Baby", I love that too..
Clodagh Rodgers-/-Helen Shapiro-/-Dana-/-even That Mousaka woman.
Great singers..Dusty-/-Olivia-/-Loadsa them.
But my favourite was Karen Carpenter, pitch perfect, voice of an angel, poor girl.
rickyross3359
Mousaka woman? Do you mean thon Greek lady who was sort of the female equivelent of Demis Rousis?
Xcotty
Aye thats the one..Shoulda gone to specsaver's woman.
rickyross3359
I think Striesand probably has the finest female voice I have heard. I don't particularly like a lot of her stuff. Must admit the first time I really took any notice of her was when the Guilty album came out. I really loved that and bought a few more after that.

Aye she's good Ricky, but for me Karen Carpenter had a purity no one else can match.
WACOlives
Sorry loons, but the one and only wis Ella or Julie London or Carly Simon.
rickyross3359

I'm loving Paloma Faith just now, like her odd voice, and brilliant songs.
She's still no as good as my favourite female singer though.
Horse MacDonald, and she's Scottish, even better.
I thought Maggie Bell was dead, I was wrong.
Sidsnotwasere
Read a good story in the Daily Record last week about Maggie Bell, saw STC when i was younger, good band.
