I cannot for the life of me understand why we have as a nation moved on from the above traditional wholesome everyday meals to nowadays a concoction of various mixtures of somewhat dubious eastern tastes.
Why has garlic suddenly become a must addition to recipes? Why must we also include red and green peppers?
I have watched many TV cookery programmes with relish only to balk at the addition of these aboninations that destroy taste buds.
Please don't try to answer by saying garlic is good for you.
I do not think it is any other than an anaesthetic to the taste buds. It certainly lingers and pervades the individuals pores for upwards of 24 hours and causes noses to wrinkle by anyone who has to come within a few feet of the person involved.
Jamie Oliver and all the rest of the arses involved might well try to get back to decent wholesome recipes, instead of loading them with the crap that destroys the original taste of good wholesome grub. _________________ Please support Cancer Research. |

Perhaps you might try and answer this question then.
Just why is it that garlic is good for the heart then?
You'll be telling me next, that carrots help us see in the dark.
Garlic is much like onion only much. much stronger and does nothing of the sort.
As far as I'm aware it does nothing except disguise the taste of anything it is mixed with.
There is not a shred of medical evidence that says it prolongs health or indeed help an already healthy heart.
It is foul, doesn't do that much good (as you claim) and pervades the nostrils of anyone nearby for hours on end. _________________ Please support Cancer Research. |

If as you say garlic does nothing "except disguise the taste of anything it is mixed with" then maybe you are using it wrong..
Have a wee read here Allan..Garlic rocks & enhances certain foods..
My wife & I are veggies & our health has improved vastly since giving up meat but whatever floats yer boat

Garlic does not rock and never has done so, until recent times when you along with many others, believe that it is the all singing all dancing additive that will prolong life and make you a healthier person for using it.
I have looked at your link along with all the graphs etc. and cannot understand just what this love with a pungent vegetable like this is worthy of your own admiration and accolade?
I accept that it is is a matter of individual taste and your own choice, but imposing others natural airspace with disgusting odours from sweat glands and breath isn't a worthy attribute to your defense of garlic.
I'm sure that you'd object if I ate cabbage and beans everyday that you'd then complain of my disgusting odorous smells.
Anti-Garlic laws should be passed side by side along with anti-smoking laws IMO. _________________ Please support Cancer Research. |

I love garlic...I add it to everything...I'm not a veggie, I like meat and when you season it with garlic, salt, pepper, complete seasoning (blend of seasoning...very good)and lime...I let it sit for an hour...OMG when you cook it (fry, bake, sautee) the taste and smell...Now I'm hungry...Oh and it's good for the heart, read the above thanks...
I want Ropa Vieja or Vaca Frita...Rice and maybe depending on the type of beans available beans.... _________________

Have you had baked garlic (a garlic clove the top cut of drizzled with olive oil and salt and pepper-1 hour in the oven depending the size)....OMG when it comes out of the oven and squeeze it out, spread on some italian bread (toast)...Heaven...sweet....
They have a way to do it in the microwave for a shorter time haven't tried it... _________________

well, erm, carrots do help us see in the dark - or shall I say they can help avoid 'night blindness' as they provide a lot of beta-carotene as well as lutein, a yellow plant pigment that lowers the risk of cataracts and protects the eyes against damage from ageing.
(They’re also an excellent source of antioxidants, which help combat the free radical cells that can cause cancer) but............someone managed to kill themselves by overdosing on carrots believe it or not! |

Tomatoes...Zaf, has high antioxidants...I also use lemon or lime for my elbows, knees, the heel...you know they are a natural bleach...also add to water and spritz your hair with it...Natural highlights...
Between all the power juices...vitamin supplements...bars....People are forgetting they could get 100% and better results with the original (natural) fruit and vegetables.... _________________

Emm! Maybe garlic then is the next endemic to blight the human race.
I cannot remember which politician said that there are lies, damned lies and statistics, but he/she was more or less correct.
Most claims are sometimes met with many other counter claims, and my own claim is that garlic is not only bad for you, but for others near to you. _________________ Please support Cancer Research. |
