Now that Labour has had to borrow an extra £27Bn. to fund help for those who have lost out, and now suddenly give them an extra £10 a week for only a year, just who is it that listens to the populace in general?
Answer- No one!

Any caring policy maker surely has not only advisers, but has a bit of common sense.

Inflation is now at 3% and will rise further still throughout the year, mainly because of the rising oil prices.

Anyone with any sort of savvy must now surely reduce the VAT on fuel prices at the pumps.
This will reduce food prices and help manufacturing industry to boost our failing economy.

Maybe as a layman, this is far too simplistic an answer to a worldwide problem in general.
Perhaps too, it's about time our small island nation stopped getting involved in wars like Iraq and Afghanistan which not only costs vast monetary resouces but is a drain on our young men and women out there.
We all must look inward to our own people first and their own standards of life and other countries must only come second.
That is only correct!

Absolute disgrace from a dictatorial government who've just had the biggest humiliation in 60 years..........

Wont stop the working classes turning out to vote for them in the West of Scotland though, will it?

...and the best of it is... GB - who's idea it was to abolish the 10% tax band in his last budget - was, according to the times today, warned of this by advisors before he did it in that budget, and he apparently overruled them saying that he understood the politics of it better than them.

Yes I agree. He's not the brightest button in the box.
I suppose it won't be too long before he does something else to anger the nation, although I wait with bated breath to hear about all those others who will now be forced to disclose their "expenses?" when they're revealed to the nation. Some grubby fingers will be burnt then.

It wont only be labour MP's that get in trouble there though.   The taxpayers have been taken for a ride for far, far too long by those in Westminster who supposedly work for us.

Time the ordinary man in the street started biting back

As someone pointed out elsewhere..if it's costing £2.7 BILLION to sort out, then that is what they were taking from the poorest earners!

Errm! Themselves? Although maybe they have forgotten that they should be a voice for the people against oppressors of the working classes.

The next party in power, I'm sad to point out, will be far, far worse.

But apart from a revolution, just what can we insignificant plebs do but just plod on regardless and try to make the best of it.
Ad Infinitum, I have wished, nay pleaded that some of these power hungry sods would perhaps just once look in and show an interest in our opinions.
I have heard many politicians saying that they will "listen" to the people in future.
It's just a bit like saying " Sod it, I'll do it tomorrow " every day.

the day politicians listen to the electorate I expect to see a squadron of flying pigs (in tight formation doing acrobatics and with coloured smoke coming from their bums) pass my window .....

Unfortunaley, all politicians the wurld ower are now mere hand puppets. The crypto-fascist free marketers are working their behinds, and we are paying for it. It’s about time we woke up and said: ‘Stop!’.

The time that Labour was for the working class is long gone or was all really just a myth. With even less accountability during the 60's and 70's who really knows what Labour PM's like Wilson and Callaghan got up to.

If the Tories do get back into power in 2010 I hope that Labour voters in Scotland wont make the mistake of just continuing to vote Labour.  SNP is the only option given the circumstances.  With a stronger SNP government at the 2011 holyrood elections at least Cameron would not get away with what bitch Thatcher did
