While trawling through this board and trying to think of a subject to discuss I suddenly remembered that back a few months ago when crude oil prices were at an all time high and everyone including myself were demanding a cut in fuel pump prices our PM Gordon Brown suggested that, and I quote "Oil prices will fall later this year" unquote.

Now either he knew that in advance, by which someone somewhere was inflating these prices unlawfully or, and this is more likely, he knew the pound would weaken against the dollar and bring these prices down. Hence depression!
Or have I missed something here?

There are far too many fingers in far too many pie's for any politicians of any political persuasion to be regarded as truthful people and it's about time that we should all be asking questions in Parliament, not the anointed corrupted individuals.

Some worthy types try to raise a valid point and then get hooted at from all the various benches from a bunch of snotty nosed brats who should know a little better if they had known their fathers.

Yeah, but they are now saying that the price will go UP! Because of OPEC cutting the production back...but with the CURRENT price of crude, we should be paying about 20p per litre less than now!

AND, the cost of gas and electricity should be coming down too!

HAH!! in yer dreams!

The latest oil prices per barrel are, as at 19.57hrs this evening $60.14 from an all time high of around $149.
The energy companies are screwing we commoners rotten.
Nothing new there then.
If you think the oil companies are raking it in, at least they do reduce prices at the pumps fairly quickly, unlike energy providers who don't.

Prices are falling not just in the UK, Alan - I'm paying about 30 cents less for a litre of diesel than I was in August. So don't blame Gordon for that - there are plenty of other things you can blame him for. give him Hell for recognizing China's "right" to rule over tibet.

So what is the point you are trying to make, and what has Tibet got to do with it?
